Resolution Designating November 12 Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) Awareness Day Introduced in Congress
WASHINGTON, DC – On September 25, Representative David Valadao (R-CA) introduced a bipartisan resolution designating November 12 as the annual Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Awareness Day. Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD), is a rare, 100% fatal, degenerative brain disease that causes rapidly progressive dementia. Rep. Valadao spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives on the resolution’s importance, which will raise awareness and understanding of this devastating and rare brain disease.
“Recognizing CJD Awareness Day through this bipartisan congressional resolution will help raise awareness of CJD, a rapidly fatal brain disorder that needs more funding and research,” said Debbie Yobs, President and Executive Director of the CJD Foundation. “We are sincerely grateful for the bipartisan support on the resolution and engagement on the CJD issues.”
Rep. Valadao was joined in this bipartisan effort by Reps.
