Peer-Led Support Group for People at Risk of Genetic Prion Disease – Communicating Within a Family at Risk of Genetic Prion Disease
FOR PEOPLE AT RISK OF GENETIC PRION DISEASE ONLY
The session will focus on how families at risk of Genetic Prion Disease communicate about topics including risk, testing decisions, test results, symptomatic family members, updates in the field, and more. Discussion will also include setting and respecting individual boundaries, considering impact of news on various family members, and handling difficult conversations. The session will open with peer speakers and comments by Jill Goldman, Genetic Counselor, Columbia University (recorded portion), followed by open Q&A with the group (which will not be recorded).
